What Do I Do?

Ok, I've been out of classes for less than a week and I really don't know what to do with myself! Yesterday I slept in til 11:30, got up and sat around for a bit, got dressed and planned to catch a ride with Tenna to go get the car at printech, but the garage went nutty and wouldn't open with the code, so we waited around for about an hour for our landlord to come help us, so i took a shower and started to make lunch til he got here. He came and unlocked it and we thought it was fixed. So I got my ride to my car and didn't really know what to do with myself, so i went to Costco to browse and eat samples... which lasted about an hour, then i went back to printech and waited for Jessica to get done. Then we went to get Schorzman and go to fhe which didn't start for another half hour... we waited in the car for a while. We ate and went home. At home nothing was really going on, but Jessica was looking for some important papers in the basement so i joined her and started organizing the storage stuff. I only got so far before i needed input from the other roommates so i came upstairs and sat around. I finally gave in and went up to my bed for some crossword puzzling. Not long after Jessica came up and suggested we go running with the other girls. Running? Yuk! so it turned out it would be a nice walk. It was so windy outside we had to grab our new kites. We went to a nearby park and tried to fly them but didn't really succeed, but on our way back we found a nice windy spot and got them flying pretty good so fun! We got home around 11:40 and worked on all the knots in our strings to put the kites away. Then to bed we went.
This morning the garage was stupid again but this time we had the vault key, but Tenna and Chelsea insisted they needed help pulling the wire that unhooked the automatic system so i went out there and tugged at it once and the garage opened.... back to bed. I am now out of bed at 10:30 and i have no idea what to do. I have no plans no car and no motivation. I have a meeting for Mary Kay at 6:30, but til then...?... ugh.

Done!

So, yesterday was officially my last day of school and I am so happy! Every Wednesday I babysit for a friend of Jessica's and take the kids to and from schools... yesterday I had the pleasure of my pants ripping a big hole in my crotch while I was over there, in cottonwood heights (not close to home). I tried to solve the problem with the best adhesive i could find- electrical tape :( This didn't last long, so in between picking up kids at school i took a trip to target to buy some replacements. It is really amazing how much longer an activity can take when you have to keep track of kids. I only had the youngest boy, Mason, with me but he managed to make it quite difficult to find some new pants. I found a pair I thought i liked best, but didn't have time to try them on before i had to go pick up the next youngest, Riley, from school. I liked them in general once i got them on, but I didn't LOVE them the way i should for how much they were. I wasn't about to put my hole-y pants back on though, so i tucked the tags in and went on tending kids. After Nalene finally got home it was 4:40. Class started in 20 minutes and I still had to pick Jessica up from work, I decided I could skip the last class since it was just for picking projects up and Tenna could get mine for me. So I picked up Jessica and went to the bank to withdraw my rent, then went downtown to get Jessica Shorzman and head to a Mary Kay "pizza and possibilities" night. I went because i could get any one item under $15 free just for going, but while i was there they caught me. I have been to one of these meetings before and seriously considered becoming a Mary Kay consultant but never got around to it. I have decided to do so now, since i was looking for a job and I figure the timing is kind of appropriate since i started my job hunt Tuesday. I just have to pay $100 for a starter kit so i can teach facial classes and start selling, but I am most excited because they teach you how to get started and continue business, AND I get to set my own schedule and buy any products for myself at 50%! I hope it works out well.
Well, after the meeting we went to target because i wanted to exchange my new pants and find some that fit better. So with more time i went fishing through the sales racks to find the perfect pair, which i have! I was able to get these along with 2 other shirts for the same price as the pair of pants i originally bought! Shoppers High! Next we went to Applebee's to meet with some friends from school for Holly Johnson's birthday celebration. Yay! I put on my new pants and went in feeling very peppy! After this we gave some of the guys that were there a ride home then to the Avenues where someone was having a party. This someone was Monty and it was a dance! fun! we stayed for the perfect amount of time and then went home. I had so much fun! At home we got all comfy and relaxed til Tenna and Chelsea got home from shopping- they looked exhausted! We started messing around and singing and dancing in the kitchen while they put their stuff away. Fun! After a minute of that we settled down for a movie- Simon Birch. By the time we went to bed it was 3:30 ugh! I didn't wake up today til 5pm!!! I am so amazed at how much i can sleep sometimes! I guess I'm all caught up from those late nighters for school projects :) Tonight I've just been relaxing and cleaning up a little. I'm going to go join the girls watching French Kiss now.

This morning we all presented our modular housing plans in our space planning class. I was pretty happy to see that our group's model was in my opinion, one of the top 3. It was so neat, we put so much detail: a spiral stair case with tension wire handrails, a fireplace, 2 light fixtures made with wire and beads, and all the built in furnishings covered with wood chips like veneering... very cool!So Yay! I am done, all I have left for school is a textiles class that I have to pick up a project, and thats it! I am really looking forward to this summer. I recently moved to a new place in North Salt Lake so I could be with some friends from school. My roommates are pretty great so far. There are six of us all together. Jessica Ellison(22) and I are sharing the master bedroom together, which has the largest closet(phew!) and an attached bathroom =) In the room across the hall is Tenna Frank(22), who I've known since moving to Utah and is also in the interior design program, and Chelsea Rodgers(23, today!) who is our 42nd ward's relief society president. Next to them is Kait Smith(19) in the design program and Kaylie Orton(20). Our Youngest roommates.
Tonight we are going out to dinner to celebrate Chelsea's birthday, and this weekend we are throwing a birthday bbq/House Warming party for all of our friends to come. I am really excited to get to know all my roomies better and play with them. This summer I am thinking I will take one class: rendering, all about using prismacolor markers etc... to color floor plans and perspective drawings. I need to work too, but I don't think i want to go back to printech with aunt carol... Its just so monotonous and uninteresting. It would be really fun to work in some sort of design related environment, or I guess I'd be happy with retail of some sort. It would be especially fun, though, to get a job singing! Except It just seems a little unlikely.

Conference Weekend

I am so happy! General Conference has been wonderful! After a day of working on my final project I treated myself to a little break. I spent Saturday first watching conference and then going to a Mary Kay Party for some pampering. I figured after a long winter my feet had been pretty neglected so I went with some roommates for pedicures... I don't think I've ever been so grateful for someone rubbing my feet. I got to sit in one of those massaging chairs for the whole thing too, I didn't realize how uptight and sore I was from all the foam core cutting and teeny drawing details for projects this year.
Tonight after conference I watched movies with my new roommates- Becoming Jane, and Mansfield Park. I am feeling all girly and hopeful now. I am so excited to get to know these girls better, this summer should be awesome! I only wish I could play all the time and not have to worry about the costs of living or the importance of learning and going to school. Which is so close to being done for a little while! I've got 3 days left!

Getting Started

Alright, Adrienne has inspired me to write a blog, although my posts won't be nearly as exciting as hers. I am living in Salt Lake City right now and going to school at LDS business college studying interior design. I am so excited to be here, I love the things I am learning! Interior design is so fun and easy for me, the only downside is that it is VERY time consuming and expensive. I can hardly believe how all of my babysitting pay checks all go into my projects. This semester is almost over and I only have one project left but its a big one. We are making a Sustainable Modular Housing Unit 3D Model. Its really neat, but it has been the most expensive and time consuming of all my projects up to now. We have to include a color board with all the materials and rendered floor plans on top of the model that has elevations on all the walls, materials for flooring, built-in furniture units, and Ive even made a couple light fixtures. I will definately take pictures! I'm really excited for this upcoming tuesday when we will present our projects in an open house with treats :) And right now, that is what I should be doing, so I'll have to get back to this later.
