So, work is going just fine. Since the bath and body works semi-annual sale is over I haven't been schedule much. I work there only one day this week. Down to Earth has increased my schedule and I am loving my job there more and more. I love the people I work with. Nothing has really changed in my life... just working. Jessica Ellison picked up a boyfriend... one of the guys who helped us move. He's really nice, but now I don't have anyone to hang out with, especially since we just moved. I'm working on that though.
Oh! I did turn 23 last Wednesday... That was fun. Before I get ahead of myself: For the 4th of July the day before Kelly and her boyfriend came down and we went to Lagoon... Fun. I always love it when she visits! Then when we finished there we headed up to Logan to see the fireworks there and then spend the night in Kelly's town. It was pretty silly. After stopping to get food we headed in what became "the party bile" to Kelly's and since her place was hot we made a bed in the party bile and slept out there. It was alright sleep. When we got up Jess' and Kelly's boyfriends were making breakfast. After that people went to an auto show while Jess and i explored Logan's little shops and mall. We got back together for a little BBQ then headed home. I painted Jess' face and mine as well... It was SO fun! After that Jess and her boy went to get fireworks then came to get me to light them off. Once they were all gone we went up to a parking lot on the mountain to watch the fireworks in the valley. Can I just emphasize how much i HATE being a 3rd wheel... AWKWARD!
Then, Sunday I drove down to VEGAS!!! I love visiting my sister so much! Ollie has gotten so big! So Cute! While there I celebrated my birthday with my favorite sister! We went to get hair and pedicures at the beauty college. Then when we got home Bryce and Ollie decorated it all up :) Bryce made a most fabulous Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, broccoli, and foccacia bread! Yummy Yum! I was thinking we were set for the night. As I sat in their living room I wondered if something was burning when Adrienne asked if I was ready... As I turned around to see a glowing raspberry covered cake!! Bryce did a fantastic job! Thanks!!! Then Adrienne headed to the strip to go to the adventure dome at circus circus. We walked around before deciding to ride the roller coaster. It was great... We even wore party hats... I don't know how many people wished me a happy birthday while we were out. =) We went to the encore next since we hadn't been in it yet. SO pretty/fancy/classy! I love it! Adrienne dropped me off just before the next bellagio fountain show after. What a DAY!!! The next day I had to come home so I would be ready to work Friday. It was so nice to have that week!

Bath and Body Works, Down to Earth, and Moving... Oh My!
oh my! So, I got the other job and it is going very well. I have been working there for a few weeks now and I love it... aside from the stress of learning what is expected of me and all the things there are to learn. I love that I get to wear pretty much what ever I want... bath and body works requires that I wear black or white shirts with black or khaki pants. I should probably get a few more of each of those articles. Scheduling has worked out pretty well so far. I get my down to earth schedule a month in advance and bath and body works comes every week. I don't know if I'm going to push myself with school right now, since I already juggle 2 jobs. But, i do want to keep progressing in the program. I guess I will see as I go. Nothing to exciting otherwise... just that my family all got together without me! I hate it when that happens. But alas, I must work to get money. In the mean time, Jessica and I have been moving to our new apartment at the springs of country woods. It is just a dinky little studio, but as we progress our apartment gets cozier and cozier. It has been nice going through all our stuff to downsize... we even combined our costume stuff and got it all very organized... I did the same with arts and crafts supplies and all my design stuff. I cant wait to have everything all set up just right. Tonight Jess and I want to go over to bath and body works and invest in some home fragrance products. Finally, I have a chance to use my discount. I don't have any great plans for the weekend, unfortunately but I'm okay with that. Our new ward is alright... still getting used to it though... making new friends and such. Its my least favorite part of moving... aside from all the physical labor that promotes an increase in bruises all over my body. Two other new people in our ward helped us move the big stuff on Tuesday. It was great to have the help... We couldn't have done it without them! After we moved those big things we went out to eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory. I LOVE that place... and, right now, on Tuesdays they have a cut back on prices because its their 40th birthday. I love it! All 4 of us ate for a total of $25. These were full meals too, including: bread, salad, drink, and entree! YES! I'm salivating just thinking about it. Yummy.

I Did It!
WooHOo! Alright! I did it... after submitting a lot of applications and sending my resume to places all over the salt lake valley I have gotten a job! I went into fashion place mall about 2 weeks ago to see if there were any stores I would like to work in that were hiring. I went into the hallmark there thinking that would be perfect. I asked if they were hiring and they were... I grabbed an application and headed on my way. Nearby was Bath and Body Work, where I stood outside the doors contemplating my feelings... I thought working there might be uncomfortable with all the surrounding fragrances, and scuttled away thankful to have come up with an excuse to avoid asking if they were hiring. I don't know why but I have anxieties about talking to people I don't know and asking them for opportunities. ... after a few days I had my application for hallmark all filled out and ready to go. I went in and asked for a manager and gave it to her... she didn't ask any questions or look interested... no proposal for an interview... :( I was disappointed. After looking at a few things in the store I left discouraged. Once again I passed Bath and Body Works... I pondered... again... Finally I thought, "Whats the matter with me, a job is a job, maybe they're hiring... Whats the worst that could happen? Get over yourself!" I walked right in and looked around at some of the merchandise when one of the associated asked if I needed any help or anything... Ok: "no, but I was wondering if you are hiring at all right now..." "Actually we are, would you like me to get you an application?" "yes please" I got it and headed for the door thinking I would take it home to finish it and then come back another day to turn it in, but since I had already prepared to hand in my application at hallmark I figured I'd get it over with and fill it out right then. I marched back into the store straight to the cash wrap and asked for the manager- "I have an application" I was surprised after my hallmark experience to hear her ask, "when can we schedule an interview for you... Thursday at 2:30 or Tuesday next week?" "Thursday" the sooner the better. Two days later I got to the mall around 2 anxious to be on time and make a good impression. After dallying around the store for a minute I talked to an associate who asked me to wait a little longer for the others to arrive. The others? It turned out I would get to take part in a group interview. It was easier to gauge the likeliness that this would work out in comparing my self to the other prospective employees. We went through the standard interview questions each of us getting a chance to answer. Easy enough. When we finished, the manager Kim asked to show us out... but told me and another girl we had some information missing on our applications... After she led the others out she returned to me puzzling to find what I had missed. "There's nothing wrong with your application, I just wanted to run through an additional interviewing exercise" OH! I get it... she was sifting out the lesser candidates. We then ran through one of the associates responsibilities: Demos... she gave us an example before having us give it a try... when we finished she told us that she would get a hold of us by 5 tomorrow to let us know. After that I was pretty optimistic that I would have a job soon. Now I do! Its great, I have had 2 days of training and will start stocking today. Its really fun playing in lotions and spa stuff all day :)
Meanwhile, while I had been looking for job opportunities I had e-mailed a place in Gardner village about a position they posted on craigslist. They responded with an e-mail including an application form attached inviting me to fill it in and e-mail it back in or bring it to the store in person. I went in on Friday hoping to deliver it to the manager, but she had left for the day, so I asked if she would be in Saturday... she would be. I made my way around the store I had never been in before finding how much I loved it! Its a pier 1 type of place with furnishings and home accessories. The style is kind of country with a modern flair, but still really cozy. I left excited to know more about the place I was applying to work, with a determination to get the job in a place I loved. I went straight to my computer to send an e-mail to Randi to let her know that I would be coming into the store Saturday to give her my application. The next day (saturday) I went to the village after spending the night in a RV on the west side of Utah lake...another story... refreshed myself in the bathroom and put on a nice shirt then entered "Down to Earth" I looked around a little at the front of the store making my way to the registers... once i got there I asked for Randi and it was her... "you must be Jessica" she said. "Yes, I am... here's my application" We chatted a little before she invited me to take a look around the store then had to go help a customer. After making my way around we bumped into each other and she asked about my attendance at LDSBC, how i liked the design program... and we chatted a little more. I thanked her for her consideration and left feeling confident that I had made a good impression. then, finally, Monday they called to schedule an interview the next day... YES! this was good. I had that interview Tuesday and it went really well... I felt like I was just talking with a friend. They had a few more interviews scheduled and told me they would contact my Thursday afternoon. When she called yesterday I was so excited just to hear from them. She asked me to come in for a second interview... which I have today at 4:30 after my shift at Bath and Body Works... I am anxious to see what will happen... I am so excited to have a prospective job in the field of my true interest! It would be so great to get experience in designing while I'm still in school... this is what I really love and want to be doing in my life.
I have to give credit though, I have been reading scriptures, praying and going to the temple consistently and I know that has made all this possible... I am so blessed! It is such a testimony to me that when you do what is right and best, you will be blessed!

Jobs?
I am so frustrated... I went back into love sac a couple times and it seems that they were still interviewing and they said it wasn't an urgent position they needed filled, so I have given up on that... It has been way too long. I just have to keep getting out there :(
I went to Vegas again and it was awesome again! I love seeing those guys. We didn't do anything outstanding, but I really liked being there, especially since I would have been home alone while Jess and Kaylie went to Disney land. We went out on the strip one night and spent our entire time at the Bellagio. Jean Philippe patisserie is the best place ever! Adrienne and I split a nutella raspberry crepe and some Dulce De leche gelatto... SO good! We watched about 4 fountain shows and checked out the conservatory, watched the whole informational video played at Jean Phillipe's and spotted a few brides getting pictures. It was perfect.
Since coming home things have been pretty dull :( I did some scrap booking one day... Oh Ive been apartment shopping quite a bit as well. There are a few promising candidates, we just have to wait to see what will be opening up in these complexes.
On Saturday Jess and I went to Spanish Fork to see what all the hullabaloo about the Festival of Colors was for. Its a Hindu celebration that eliminates the "caste system" for a while while people are all covered in colored powders hiding their ethnic origins, social statuses, and beauty, creating an interesting sense of unity. Jess and I got there just in time for the "throwing of the colors" and in a huge crowd got covered in color from friendly strangers throwing and wiping powder on our faces and shouting "Hari Krishna!" It was so crowded with so many colors being thrown that for a time we could not see 10 feet up in the sky for the cloud of colorful powder looming. Following this a band played music on a stage while the rainbow audience became the biggest mosh pit Ive ever been in. Squishing in next to so many people was weird, but everyone acted like they knew each other. I never realized how much I love my space until I got out on the edge of the excitement. It was a really neat thing to be a part of and an experience I would recommend to everyone at least once. It was especially fun to see little children participating in throwing colors... It was like they were getting to make a mess and not getting in trouble for it. Jess wanted to try the Indian food, so we waited a while... unfortunately to find that though interesting, Indian food didn't suit her palate. Taking a shower after the whole event was fun too, watching streams of purple flow out of my hair. Jess's scalp is still a little pink and purple. I am planning to attend next year in time get my own magenta powder to throw.
Meanwhile I'll continue on my hunt. Wish me luck.

Vegas!
wow, Vegas was so fun! It was great to see Adrienne and mom and play! We had a great time turning Adrienne's house into a home too. I loved seeing Olivia too! for all the details of my trip you can look it up on Adrienne's blog at www.bryceandadriennedial.blogspot.com I was really happy to have my mom fly into Utah so we could road trip together, I love that! It was so nice to spend some time with just her.
Since then nothing really significant has happened. I am just working on finding a job that hopefully has something to do with interior design... right now I'm waiting to hear from the job I hope to get: being a sales associate for love sac. I love their product and what they're all about! I just keep praying! It will have been a week since my interview tomorrow... eek! I'm so anxious about it! I have so may applications going around its making me crazy!
on another note, I have been watching heroes for the past couple of weeks and I love that show! Its always got me on the edge of my seat. I am currently watching season 3 its crazy!
Pray for me! I should find out about that job soon!

January Review
Woo! I went to Cali Sunday, January 18th and stayed with John-Steven and Rachel... I love their place, It is so nice. It was great to meet the newest Asvitt- little jack. John became friends with me again and I had lots of fun chasing him in circles around the kitchen. Ben was so cute... upon discovering me having candy he continually squeaked "peez?" at me with his hand out, when I said all gone he went and retrieved the box he saw me get them from... mmm, candy Who can resist? On Monday Mom and Dad arrived to join in on the fun. It was great to have the family all together again... Wednesday Adrienne came up to Sacramento too and we all got to go out to eat and be happy since kc got off of academy for the evening. It is really neat to see all of us kids grown up... though a little strange for me being the only single child-less member of our immediate family. It is so fun though! I'm so glad I get to enjoy all my nieces and nephews without having to worry about my own children. Being all together does make me excited for the future... I am so excited to get married someday and have the biggest party ever! I cant wait to have all the kids dressed in matching little suits and dresses... but for all that I'm gonna have to save up some money... good thing there are no prospects even on the horizon.
OH man... the next thing to look forward to is going to Vegas with mom to help Adrienne do some renovations on her rental... I'm so excited to work on house projects and help her house become a home! Plus, I will get to see Ollie again and the Bellagio fountains, and a magic show! I am so excited!
This last Saturday our good friend, the elders quorum president in our ward and another good friend got engaged... I am so excited for them... Ive never had a close friend get married so I'm really looking forward to helping Jen and Leo make preparations to throw a few receptions. I've always thought it would be fun to be a wedding planner, especially after helping with Adrienne's wedding. I just have so many ideas and love working on that stuff: writing invitations, color coordinating flowers and table cloths etc... I'm really so happy for the couple too! But like I said, really, I'm just so excited to throw a huge party for me and my family! ugh- I'm pathetic.

Disappointment
OK, I'm back in the land of the Mormons and i had a great couple of days before school started. Ive been taking good care of myself and getting back into a routine and reuniting with friends. It was great to go back to my ward and meet some new people too. I will also be having a new calling! yay! I get to be the choir director's assistant :). I have high hopes for the new year in our ward.
Monday was the first day of classes and I had new testament second half at 7:40 am and it was so great... after not being in a religion class for a semester I can appreciate it that much more. Tuesday I was supposed to have class again at 7:40 but didn't make it, then today I had religion again and loved it again... the teacher i have really makes me think more than any other teacher Ive had. My next class was at 12:20 and when I got there I found that I was not on the role... what? I had signed up for classes a long time ago, I should be on the role... so i got online to look up my schedule and found that all of my design classes that I had signed up for were dropped. I didn't do that! I then remembered that to be in the 2 year design program you have to keep a 3.0 or more GPA for design classes and I only have a 2.77 because of some projects I missed in a class. So, to my disappointment I will not be in any classes this semester :( I was really looking forward to starting school again too! So, now I will drop my religion class but keep attending for the enlightenment, then re-take that class in the summer since they don't offer it now and that should increase my GPA enough. I'm just so frustrated with myself for not working harder last semester I really wanted to get closer to finishing! On the up side, I can get a job now, don't have to pay tuition, I will be available to visit family, and I can work on some personal improvements... reading my scriptures and such.... If things work out okay I should be able to graduate in a year.
