Ok, this weekend was so fun!
I cant remember what i did Friday night, but Saturday was a hoot! When Kaylie got back from her soccer game Jess and I woke up and we all laid around for a while... After Jess got ready we headed out to breakfast at IHOP for crepe fever :) YES! After that we stopped at Target for some window shopping and then went home. Then we prepared to go to lagoon for Frightmares :) I was so excited... but it wasn't the best weather. When we finally left with Eric Munden and his friend Josh It was raining. I figured we'd be okay, but when we got to the roller coasters it was snowing! Unbelievable! I loved it though... we walked on to all the rides, no wait. I was fine until the cold really set in as the sun went down and my clothes absorbed the melting snow. At this point we decided to head for the haunted houses so we could be inside. I love it! Jess was so scared until she realized how to put it off, turn her fear into funny, finding opportunities to crack jokes at the spooks. We then watched the Hack'n'Slash dance group perform, they are hilarious. After all that fun we headed for the car for the warm refuge. At home we snuggled up and watched a movie and the girls fell asleep. After our little nap we got ready to go over to Leo's (our elders quorum president) to hang out. We ended up playing signs... so fun, as usual. When we were good 'n tired we went home and straight to bed. Sunday was also a great day... We had fast and testimony meeting and I bore my testimony... It was so nice. I keep feeling all warm and fuzzy every Sunday, Like I love everyone and everything! We went home and took short naps then went with kaylie to her grandparents for her grampas birthday. I love their house! It is historically registered and very cool. We had scrumptious dinner and chit-chatted. We then went to Kaylies parents house to make brownies for ward prayer. While they baked we watched a great show, The worlds ugliest animals :) It was fun. We went to ward prayer and then went home. Ah... good weekend!

Taking on School
HOly Cow! today I have come to realize how much stuff I have to do, especially in one class! I have like 4 projects to be working on and a test coming up. I have to make a chair out of cardboard, research a contemporary furniture designer, make a PowerPoint for 20 significant pieces of furniture, and go to an elementary school and teach them about design... I am so stressed! that is just for one class. I also have to keep up in memorizing relevant architects and designers and what they did, as well as historical design techniques and terms. I also have to plan remodel a historically registered house into a commercial venue, drawing all details, lighting plans, furniture plans, materials schedules and everything while still maintaining the historical virtue. I am also learning more complicated details in CAD :P ugh. And Halloween is coming up... and I want to play! Must keep up!
Yesterday was a fun day though, Our FHE was a surprise from the elders quorum where they made dinner for all of us ladies in the ward and served us. We went on "dates" with one of the guys... but because the girls out number the guys, our dates were one guy to three girls... It was pretty funny. My date was Daryl, and he was quite interesting... Sometimes it seemed that he was talking to us so much that we thought we wouldn't get a chance to eat our dinner. Which was: a spring tossed salad with mandarins and poppy seed dressing, rice, and roast pork. It was quite impressive considering there were about 14o people there. For dessert we had french silk pie, during which time we had a group discussion on what we do or don't like about dating or what our date does or doesn't do etc... After that there was a dance... so funny. I had a good time, especially after the "date" part ended. I loved dancing and watching everyone. After the event was done some of us went to Denny's and just socialized. I was in such a silly mood because i hadn't taken my strattera.
Well. I don't want to but need to get to work... you know, all those projects... :( well.

In the Swing of Things
well, since my last post, plenty has happened! I have a new address now because someone bought the place we were renting... but our new town house is great, and only a block away from the last place. I have met a bunch of people this summer too. I worked at the Joseph Smith Memorial building, but only for about a month... I just got sick of it I guess. My roommates and I did not go to disney land either, but they are going in November... I decided to stay home, save money and not miss any class.
I loved the summer, working once a week and playing whenever possible :) In September Adrienne came out to the west for Drew's bachelorette party and wedding... I was lucky enough to get to go pick her up in Vegas and help her apartment shop as well as bring her back to Utah then up to Idaho for the wedding ceremony and back to Utah for a day. I loved it! It was really fun to see Adrienne all pregnant! After that week with her, I went out to Cali for about 2 weeks... so much fun! I loved playing with my nephews and nieces! Clara had just had Gretta. I also helped JS and Rachel move out of their elk grove house to a nice place in Lincoln.
Okay, I am back in school. I have class every weekday except Friday. I love my classes... I am in studio II- which is a class we apply all the skills we are learning across the board, Rendering- which is my favorite! We get to color in class... that's all we do :) learning different techniques to achieve certain looks with the most expensive markers in the world. That's my Monday... Tuesday and Thursday I have modern architecture and furniture in the morning and historical furnishings and architecture at night. Wednesdays I work at the dunkley's til 4 then go to auto CAD at 5... I am so happy to be learning how to draft on a computer, it makes floor plans and elevations so much quicker and easier than my own hands. But, I am loving my projects and all the information I keep squishin in my head. Last Thursday our historical class went to the cathedral of the Madeline on south temple to look at the Gothic design... I love seeing the things I learn in that class in real life... the gargoyle, linen fold, and rosette motifs, the Romanesque arches, groin vaulting, the transept and apse... etc...etc...
As usual, nothing is happening on the dating scene... and hasn't been all summer long. I don't know why that's the way it is, but I am learning patience... I guess I stay focused on my school work better too.
I have my same calling, on the munch and mingle committee... and have been planning ward FHEs forever. Yesterday was a good one- Pumpkin carving. I love it! I am so exited for this month! Anyone who knows me knows that Halloween is my favorite Holiday... Playing dress-up and eating candy? What could be better? Not only that but the weather is beautiful... I love that I can almost wear a sweater now and only sweat a little. But on the costume front: I have 3 planned costumes- A mechanic, Little Bo Peep(off toy story), and a bumble bee. Yesterday I worked on painting more pink polka-dots on my skirt... I also painted some pictures to hang in the house, two ghosts and a pumpkin. I forgot how much I love to paint :)
Adrienne is now about to pop, little Ollie will likely be coming out in the next couple of days... sadly I am stuck here in Utah at school wishing I could go to Michigan to see the pink little softy, and the rest of the folks. The soonest I will get to see them will be around Christmas or after that :(
This last weekend was so great! It was General Conference, so of course... I loved waking up Saturday morning to go downstairs, bundle up in a blanket and listen to the prophet and apostles. It was rainy outside all day making it even better. Kaylie and Jess ran to the store and picked up some groceries to make a fantastic breakfast too. Aahhh... so nice :) Then we took naps and watched the second session next. that night we went out to eat a red robin then came home to play games with friends... First we played some cards etc... after the crowd left everyone who was still there ended up playing Simon Says... so fun! I never thought a group of young single adults could have so much fun playing a child's game. We also played a game called password... also very fun, where one person thinks of one word(password) and shares it with someone on the other team, the other team then decides if they want to use one other word to get their team to use one guess to find the "password" or let the other team start... it was probably 2 in the morning before everyone was gone, but we had so much fun! Sunday we did the conference thing again... then went to ward prayer and invited people over for games... we played a round of catch phrase and then started a 2.5 hour long game of signs :) I laughed so hard those two nights!
